Celebrating a new era in research management and administration
25 September 2008
On September 1st, ICT's Research Management Program (RMP) team, in partnership with the Research Portfolio, successfully launched the first module of the new Research Information Management System (RIMS), a business tool supporting research administration and management at the University.
The first RIMS module will enable improved and standardised grant management processes throughout the lifecycle of a research project, and more timely and accurate internal and external reporting.RIMS will initially be used by the Research Office and Corporate Finance Research for the management of all active research projects, and will progressively be extended to researchers, Faculty/School based research managers and administrators and finance officers.
In support of the project, DVC Professor Merlin Crossley said "As the complexity of our research, reporting and assessment responsibilities have increased, the need for RMP has become pressing. I acknowledge the commitment and contribution to this initiative by our staff across all Faculties and central portfolios."
