What is RSS?

RSS stands for 'Really Simple Sydication'. It enables content to be delivered to you instead of you having to trawl websites to keep up-to-date.

How do I use it?

To make use of RSS you will need a newsreader. Once you have a newsreader you subscribe to RSS feeds. Your newsreader will update each feed every time new content is added.

Every time a new story is added to the University of Sydney news your newsreader will pick it up. You can subscribe to a general news feed that includes all stories published here, or subscribe to the category or categories of your choice.

To subscribe, right click on the RSS buttons above and copy the URL (sometimes called a shortcut or hyperlink). Paste the URL into your chosen newsreader.

Where can I get a newsreader?

There are a number of newsreaders available, depending upon your computer's operating system.
