Occupational Health & Safety
The University of Sydney has a commitment to ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of all University employees, students and visitors.
Our occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures will assist you in managing the risks associated with University related activities. We provide you with information on office ergonomics, manual handling, safe work methods, laboratory and chemical safety, emergency procedures, incident reporting, injury management and workers' compensation.
In accordance with NSW legislation, all staff and students at the University have OHS responsibilities. You have a duty of care for yourself, those who are under your supervision and others who may be affected by your actions.
On this site you will find an outline of our OH&S management practices, how we involve our staff in decision making on OHS matters, resources for managers, contacts of your local OHS representatives and guidelines to help ensure that you and others around you are safe in the different working environments.
