  • Professor Mary O'Kane, NSW Chief Scientist, gave the 2009 Diana Temple Memorial Lecture on 22 October in Parliament House on "The advancement of the role of women in science". There were approximately 80 attendees, including a sprinkling of males. GARJ introduced Prof O'Kane and spoke briefly about Diana. Diana's husband, daughter and son attended the lecture.   • Congratulations to A/Prof Robin Allan on his retirement and on his appointment as an Honorary Associate Professor. He joined the Department of Pharmacology in 1980 and enjoyed a distinguished career in teaching and research

  • Jonathon Arnold has been awarded a NARSAD Young Investigator Award (National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression) for his project 'Role of ABC transporters in resistance to antipsychotic therapy and cannabinoid-antipsychotic drug interactions' (US$28,750 in 2010 and 2011)
