Harry Banga, Director of Procurement Services
Harry holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Laws Degree. Harry has held national procurement roles at Stockland Pty Ltd, David Jones and has also had successful senior roles in the construction and water resource industries.
In Harry's most recent role as the Group General Manager, NSW Procurement at the Department of Commerce, Harry led significant change within the Procurement environment and brought about improvement and innovation to the way government business has traditionally been conducted. NSW Procurement is a self funding business within the government which generates close to $50 million per annum in revenue and delivers ongoing annual savings of $330 million across a $4 billion goods and services portfolio.
Rob Halsall, Procurement Manager
Rob Halsall is a Certified Procurement Practitioner (MCIPS), and a Strategic Sourcing Leader for the University. Rob has over thirteen years domestic and international procurement experience with Public Sector, Chemicals, Aerospace, Automotive and Telecommunications companies, providing leadership in strategic sourcing and integrated supply chain management.
Rob has been working at the University for almost 3 years and has enjoyed the diversity and exposure to different client areas, which are unique to the University environment.
Rob holds an honours degree in Business Information Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management and an MSc in Procurement.
Sarah Collins, Procurement Manager
Sarah Collins is a Strategic Sourcing Leader for the University and is also currently using her experience to lead and develop the Category/Vendor Management team. Sarah has over 12 years Supply Chain experience within the Financial Services and Manufacturing sectors working for global multi-national organisations (JP Morgan and Unilever respectively). The last 10 of these years have been in a direct Procurement function focusing on Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, Category Management and Contracts Management both domestically across highly fragmented locations and spend portfolios, and within the Asia region.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of New South Wales having achieved a Bachelor of Science with 1st Class Honours, majoring in Manufacturing Management. Sarah is also a NSW committee member for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Lisa May, Procurement Manager
Lisa holds an Honours Bachelors degree in Procurement from Arizona State University, with specialisations in International Business and Japanese. Lisa is currently studying for a Masters in Business Administration at AGSM. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Lisa has held domestic and global procurement roles in the manufacturing, defence, and semiconductor industries. Prior to joining the University, Lisa was part of the management team at Rolls Royce plc (UK), where she led business transformations in the procurement environment which exceeded cost savings targets and customer service levels. During her two and a half years at the University, Lisa has been primarily working on projects with the Faculties of Health and Information & Communications Technology department. Lisa is also a qualified TEFL teacher with 18 months teaching experience in Cambodia, Japan and Spain.
David McManus, Senior Procurement Specialist
David joined Procurement Services in June 2008. David will be focused on Category and Vendor management in 2009 and will play a leading role in developing a standardised procurement delivery process.
Since joining the University David has successfully closed several projects which have resulted in over $2 million in certified savings to the University across a diverse range of spend areas including construction and major equipment. David has previously held procurement roles at IBM and General Electric.
David holds an Honours Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a National Diploma in Electronic Engineering. David is also currently studying towards full membership status of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
Edgar Atienza, Senior Procurement Specialist
Edgar has joined Procurement Services as a Senior Procurement Specialist. His focus is to assist the team in the management of spend across a diverse category range and the strategic transformation of procurement within the University. Prior to this, he has worked in various procurement roles in industries such as IT, media and education.
Edgar holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines and a Master of Business and Technology from UNSW. He is also currently studying towards full membership status with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
Tabassum Humza, Senior Procurement Specialist
Tabassum Humza is in a Strategic Sourcing role with Procurement Services at the University. Tabassum joined the Procurement team with a background in business process reengineering, and logistics experience in the film production environment. While Tabassum's working life commenced in the Indian subcontinent, the majority of her work experience has been within the Australian environment.
Tabassum completed her post graduate studies (Master of Commerce) with an Honours degree at the University. Tabassum is also an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
James Hayes, Procurement Specialist
James holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws Degree. James is also an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Prior to working at the University James worked at NSW Procurement at the Department of Commerce where he started in a Graduate Position and quickly worked his way up into a Vendor Management role. In this role, James managed the NSW Health portfolio of contracts and the NSW Government Office Supplies contract with an estimated combined annual value of $600 million.
Amal Eid, Procurement Specialist
Amal Eid is a Procurement Professional with over 11 years experience. Amal has a Diploma in Commerce and is undertaking an MSc in Logistics in order to gain a full MCIPS accreditation. Amal's experience ranges from transactional purchasing roles, to more strategic end to end sourcing. Amal has worked in many industries from Government, Finance, IT&T and Construction. Amal has lived and worked overseas and has had experience in procurement activities outside of Australia, giving her a more global perspective on procurement and best practice.
Srinath Vitanage, Procurement Services Officer
Srinath joined the Procurement Services team as a Procurement Services Officer in April 2009 within the Category Management arm of the division.
In his previous role Srinath worked for Qantas Catering as a Senior Pricing Analyst ensuring that airline menus were priced appropriately to deliver the highest possible margins to the business as well as reviewing process efficiencies and cost minimisation. Prior to the role at Qantas Catering, Srinath worked for Colonial First State as a Fund Accountant and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu as an Analyst.
Srinath holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of New South Wales and is currently undergoing certification to become a Chartered Accountant. Srinath is an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Sujee Mampitiyarachchi, Procurement Services Officer
Sujee joined the team in April 2009 as a Procurement Services Officer, his previous role was an IT Consultant with IBM Global Business Services. In this role, Sujee delivered complex solutions for a global telecommunications client and led research into emerging technologies.
Sujee is also an alumnus of the University, having completed a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science. Sujee is an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Dominic Heah, Procurement Analyst
Dominic joined the Procurement Services team in October 2008 as a student employee. During his tenure as a student employee, Dominic had carried out a University-wide Holistic Spend Analysis to identify cost-reduction and business attribute opportunities that forms the basis of Procurement's functional category management approach. Dominic's focus going forward is around the implementation of Procurement ePlatforms to streamline the procurement delivery process. Also from the University of Sydney, Dominic completed a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree with Honours.
Sara Liu, Financial Analyst
Sara commenced working for the University within the Financial Shared Services department before joining the Procurement Services team as a Financial Analyst in April 2008. Sara's goal will take the lead on the standardisation of several key financial processes whilst developing an overall understanding of the Procurement function.
Sara holds a Master of Commerce (Accounting) and Master of Logistics Management, both from the University of Sydney.
