Synopsis

Researchers are often under pressure to publish more numbers of papers in higher impact factor journals, potentially at the cost of research quality and rigour. This series of studies investigates strategies to improve research rigour and uphold responsible research practices, in spite of the pressure to compromise. These studies involve conducting ‘research on research’ to review and assess published research or openly accessible documents, and synthesise new information from these. Methods may also include other quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings from this research are significant and may influence how researchers uphold research integrity and rigour.
