Summary

Current studies are focusing on falls risk factors in the frail older person and their relationship to fractures as well as novel therapies to prevent these falls and fractures.

Synopsis

falls risk factors as screening tools in a high risk population (the frail older person) for identifying those at risk of osteoporotic fractures, as well as novel therapies to prevent falls and fractures. We have a trial of calcium and sunlight exposure in progress. Nursing homes and hostels in northern Sydney have been involved in recruitment.
