Studies in Cellular and Diagnostic Proteomics

Unfortunately, this opportunity is currently unavailable. Please check back at a later date.

Summary

Projects in the Laboratory for Cellular and Diagnostic Proteomics will use proteomic techniques to detect differences in expression of cell or tissue proteins in cancer, using patient samples from Kolling tissue banks, changes in various cell culture models of cell growth regulation, and changes in the serum proteome in response to endocrine or metabolic conditions.

Supervisor(s)

Professor Rob Baxter

Synopsis

Projects in the Laboratory for Cellular and Diagnostic Proteomics will use the technique of surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionisation time-of-flight mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF MS) to detect differences in expression of cell or tissue proteins under different experimental conditions. Areas for new research projects will include proteomic changes in cancer, using patient samples from Kolling tissue banks, changes in various cell culture models of cancer cell growth regulation, and changes in the serum proteome in response to endocrine or metabolic conditions.
