Process
From an initial enquiry through to program completion and evaluation, RIAP works closely with our clients to ensure that our education programs meet the learning needs and development objectives of the client organisation.
The Process
The RIAP education program process is made up four key parts:

- Understand your organisation and identify learning objectives
Following your initial inquiry, RIAP will work with you to identify learning objectives for the education program by learning about your organisation. Training needs analysis is conducted. - Develop the program
Experts from the University of Sydney and partner organisations work with RIAP to develop the content, methodology and format of the program. Trainers, presenters and site visit hosts are thoroughly briefed on the client's learning objectives. - Deliver the program
Program modules are delivered by expert presenters and trainers and monitored by RIAP. Participants are taken on observational site visits and RIAP facilitates dialogue and networking opportunities with Australian counterparts. - Evaluate the program
The client organisation and all participants fill out detailed evaluation forms. Based on this feedback, RIAP evaluates the program and learning outcomes against the learning objectives and organisation needs. Follow-up activities are identified and recommended. Linkages are facilitated between the participants and the University of Sydney.
Methodology
RIAP education programs are multi-disciplinary and facilitate an interactive learning approach by encouraging regular discussion and debate between participants and teaching staff. Advanced adult learning methods are utilised throughout our programs to maximise learning outcomes and participant engagement. The programs are delivered through a mixture of lectures, case studies, discussion forums, train-the-trainer workshops and observations of practice (site visits) that give participants the opportunity to meet their Australian counterparts in government, industry or academia. The combination of lectures and site visits links theory and practice in a flexible and innovative education model.

Presenters and Trainers
Presenters and trainers in RIAP education programs are drawn from the wealth of expertise in the University of Sydney’s 17 faculties and over 200 research centres, as well as our extensive network of partners in government, industry and academia in Australia and abroad. RIAP selects presenters and trainers who are experts in their field with strong track records and adult teaching skills to ensure that the best learning outcomes are achieved.
Networking and Site Visits
RIAP helps participants to build networks with the University of Sydney and other organisations by facilitating networking seminars and site visits. Site visits are designed to complement lectures with observations of practice and give participants the opportunity to meet their Australian counterparts in academic, business, government or non-government organisations.
