RIAP offers several Visiting Research Fellow positions annually. These positions are essentially academic in orientation with a focus on scholarly research and publications. They represent positions that are suitable for the more established researcher.
The fellowship seeks to attract outstanding scholars and academic visitors who are able to contribute to RIAP's mission and scope of activities.
The program fosters, in particular, the development of research studies that address issues pertinent to public sector reform, corporate governance, higher education, business management, media, information communication technology, strategic affairs and environmental planning. Research in other disciplines is also encouraged and opportunities to pursue scholastic work in areas outside RIAP's research profile can be facilitated.
Research activities undertaken in the fellowship are geared towards promoting greater engagement between the fellow and RIAP's network of government, business, professional and academic community, both within and outside Australia.
Research conducted under the fellowship may target any country in the Asia-Pacific region. However, RIAP is better able to facilitate research collaboration and activities in a number of selected countries where demonstrated applied research has been conducted in recent years. These countries include China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam and the Pacific Island countries.
RIAP offers several Visiting Research Associate positions annually. These positions are essentially non-academic in orientation with a focus on professional and career development research. The following are the terms and conditions governing VRA positions.
The VRA position seeks to attract outstanding professionals, policy makers and managers who are able to contribute to RIAP's mission and scope of activities.
The program fosters, in particular, the development of policy discussion papers that address issues pertinent to public sector reform, corporate governance, higher education, business management, media, information communication technology, strategic affairs and environmental planning. Policy reviews and analysis in other disciplines are also encouraged and opportunities to pursue studies in areas outside RIAP's research profile can be facilitated.
Activities undertaken in the research associate position are geared towards promoting greater engagement between the fellow and RIAP's network of government, business, professional and academic community, both within and outside Australia.
Activities conducted under the research associate position may target any country in the Asia-Pacific region. However, RIAP is better able to facilitate research collaboration and activities in a number of selected countries where demonstrated applied research has been conducted in recent years. These countries include China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam and the Pacific Island countries.
