2005 Fujian Judicial Commission Training Program

The Research Institute for Asia and the Pacific (RIAP) hosted a training program for representatives from the province of Fujian on the 19th September to the 21st of September 2005. The main objective of the course was to gain an understanding into the Australian judicial system. The training program introduced the delegates to the structure of the Australian justice and legal system, in particular the adminstrative element. Site visits to the Judicial Commission of NSW and the NSW Department of Corrective Services Academy offered the delegates the opportunity to develop an understanding of how the government operated at the practical level. They also offered the delegates the chance to meet Australian professionals in their field and develop important Australian contacts.
