Australia Korea Internship Program
The AKIP is jointly funded by the Australia-Korea Foundation and the Korea-Australia Foundation, and offers exceptional opportunities for outstanding postgraduate and final year undergraduate students who wish to pursue a business-related career in the Asia-Pacific region. The AKIP provides a carefully customized internship program allowing students scope to develop their professional and cross-cultural skills through short-term, international work experience in Seoul, South Korea. This opportunity serves not only to improve the students’ knowledge of Korean business culture but also to enhance their employment prospects and to contribute to closer Australia - Korea understanding and relations. From January until March 2006, eight students participated in internships in South Korea.
Inside Australia Program-Dongguk University Korea
This training program on public sector reform in Australia was conducted for a group of 25 academics and graduate students visiting from Dongguk University in Seoul, Korea.
Inside Australia Program-Chungnam Korea
RIAP conducted a three week study excursion for seventy five students visiting from Chungnam and Konkkuk universities in Korea. The students attended classes to improve their English conversation skills and develop an understanding of Australia's society and culture. The program included site tours to business and government agencies.
Canada
Inside Australia Politics, Society & Culture - University of Toronto
Inside Australia program for University of Toronto has been running since 2003. The program is conducted for five weeks and designed for a multidisciplinary group of undergraduates. Focusing on Australia's politics, culture and society, the program seeks to increase student's knowledge on how Australia is changing and how it views itself and its involvement in the Asia Pacific region.
Japan
Inside Australia: Global Business Management
Inside Australia : Global Management is a two weeks intensive program designed for Meiji Gakuin students from Japan . The program involves a combination of English language communications, lectures on Global Management and services issues and site visits, and the first program was delivered successfully in January 2007.
Inside Australia : Health Systems and Services
Inside Australia : Health System and Services is a three week intensive program designed for medical students from Japan . The program involves two streams: English Language Communications, and lectures and site visits focusing on Australia Health System and Services. Students also had the opportunity to network with industry professionals and University of Sydney medical students.
Inside Australia - Nagoya University - Internationalisation of Higher Education
Two delegates from Nagoya University in Japan spent a week at the University of Sydney observing and studying the University approach to the internationalisation of higher education. Meetings were conducted with a number of senior university administrators and areas covered included the International Office, the University international strategy, International Student Support Services and university executive development programs.
Thailand
Strategic Marketing-Srinakharinwirot University
This customized training program sought to explore new trends in international marketing. The program was attended by more then 75 MBA students from Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand.
Marketing and Strategic Management for Srinakharinwirot University Delegates
This program was specifically designed for 34 final year MBA participants from Thailand’s University of Srinakharinwirot. The two-day program focused on marketing and strategic management in Asia and was delivered by experts from the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Marketing and Strategic Management for Chiang Mai University Delegates
Chiang Mai University program was a one-day seminar focused on the topic of international marketing: winning in the next decade and promoting creativity and change in strategic management. Attended by 57 final year MBA students, the course involved short lectures and workshops to build students knowledge of Australia’s approach to both marketing and strategic management. Experts from the Australian Graduate School of Management and the Faculty of Economics and Business were invited to deliver the seminar.
Indonesia
Aceh Architectural Students Program
In association with the Faculty of Architecture, RIAP helped to deliver a three week design studio training program for five senior Indonesian students. The program was aimed at developing the design and construction skills of students making a contribution in the reconstruction efforts of Aceh after the 2004 Tsunami.
