The University of Sydney Bridging Support Grants Scheme

Subject to available internal funding, bridging support grants are provided to applicants who are first named on an ARC Discovery or NHMRC project grant application submitted by the University of Sydney and nearest to the ARC-NHMRC funding cut off;

Bridging support fellows will not usually be eligible for a bridging support grant in the same year as the fellowship;

Recipients must be either:

(1) a paid employee of the University; or

(2) Conjoint/Clinical title holder (from an affiliated institution that has agreed to put all their research productivity including grant applications, postgraduate research student supervision, and publications through the University for administration) and should hold an appointment which extends to 31 December in the year of the bridging support grant. Honorary and Emeritus appointments are not eligible.

No additional application form is required.

Bridging grants will be notified as soon as possible after ARC and NHMRC announcements are made in October/November each year.
