ARC RMS (Research Management System)

Please note: GAMS has now been replaced by the ARC’s new Research Management System (RMS) for submission of all new applications.

Accessing ARC RMS

All ARC schemes require applicants to complete their application form using the ARC's Research Management System (RMS).

Application forms are made available in RMS before the closing dates for the ARC's funding schemes.

A hard copy of complete applications must also be provided to the Research Office by the corresponding Internal closing date/s.

You will need a valid RMS ID and password to use the system.

RMS supports: IE6, IE7 & Firefox 2.0+

Obtaining a RMS ID and password

For all named investigators:

If you have never applied to the ARC before, you will need to have a RMS account set up for you. Please email stating your
full name (including title, eg. Prof), date of birth, gender, position, department, telephone contact numbers and email address.

RMS Tips

  • Save regularly. RMS will time out after 20 minutes of inactivity and any unsaved data will be LOST
  • Complete the application sequentially (in Part order) to assist with pre-population of subsequent sections
  • Do NOT use the back button on your browser toolbar. Instead use the ‘Return…’ links near the top of each page to navigate back to menus
  • To avoid loss of data do not have two users in the same record at the same time
  • Enter approved eligibility exemption identifiers as the last thing
  • Online help is available – button is at the top left of each screen
  • Character limits apply to some sections. If the text turns to red you have exceeded the limits – reduce your text until it reverts to black.
  • We strongly recommend documents for uploading to RMS be directly generated PDFs rather than scanned
