International Visiting Research Fellowships
The University of Sydney International Visiting Research Fellowships are offered to overseas researchers of high standing at any stage in their career to share and disseminate new and original ideas and/or techniques, initiate and undertake collaborative research and facilitate interaction and training of University staff and students. Visiting fellows are expected to make a substantial contribution to the academic life of the University. Applicants and their host University of Sydney researcher must have an outstanding track record relative to opportunity in order to be short-listed. Successful applicants are expected to be based full-time at the University for the duration of the Fellowship (2-12 weeks). There are usually two rounds per annum closing in May and December for travel in the following 12 months. Only one successful application is permitted per annum. Applicants must contact the Head of the host School/Department well before the closing date.
Applicants seeking to visit the University from an overseas organisation may apply. Only one Fellowship may be awarded to an applicant in any one 12 month period.
Excellence will be the primary criterion. The selection committee will consider the track records relative to opportunity of the applicant and of the host researcher, the proposed research, and the benefits to the University arising from the collaboration. Preference will be given to visiting researchers who do not already have well-established research links with the University of Sydney.
