Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC)
The Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC) codes have been developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and Statistics New Zealand (Statistics NZ) to serve as a standard research classification for both countries.
They are used in the collection, analysis and dissemination of research and experimental development (R&D) statistics in Australia and New Zealand.
There are two types of ANZSRC codes:
- Field of Research (FOR) codes
- Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) Classification codes
Using ANZSRC Codes in Publication collections
HERDC
Each publication claimed for HERDC will need to have both FOR and SEO codes indicated by the author/s of the publication.
ERA
ERA publications require FOR codes, which are used to identify the field of research for individual academics, for each publication and for scholarly journals.
