Australian Competitive Grants Register (ACGR) is a list of competitively awarded funding schemes. The ACGR list is reviewed and updated each year by DEEWR.
The ACGR is often referred to as category one income and is an important factor in DEEWR's funding formula for higher education. Under the Research Infrastructure Block Grant (RIBG) scheme, Research Training Scheme (RTS) and Institutional Grant Scheme (IGS), universities are allocated funding based on an index which measures institutional research performance. Ability to attract ACGR and other research income is an important measure of the University of Sydney's research performance.
