How did the University choose InfoEd?
In May 2007 the University of Sydney released a Request for Tender (RFT) for the provision of an off-the-shelf Research Information Management System (RIMS). Responses were received from two vendors: Integrated Research Systems Pty Ltd (existing supplier of IRMA) and InfoEd International Inc.
Each vendor gave a demonstration of their product at the University in July. The vendor demonstrations were attended by a broad cross-section of academic and general staff involved in research management who provided structured feedback on their preferred option.
A tender assessment panel evaluated the tender responses, vendor references and feedback from staff who attended the vendor demonstrations and recommended InfoEd as the preferred supplier. The University endorsed the recommendation and selected InfoEd as the software provider for RIMS.
