Departmental scholarships

These are scholarships for postgraduate students funded from departmental sources or grants made to the department or its academic staff by granting bodies or sponsors for particular research projects.

They are advertised on the Research Office’s website under Current scholarship opportunities.

Interested students should contact their departments to see if any such funding is available. Academic staff apply for funding and may nominate a particular student as the scholarship recipient. The scholarship will be advertised if a student is not nominated on a successful funding application. Occasionally departments offer supplementary and other scholarships to assist some postgraduate students. Requirements for such scholarships vary between departments.
