University of Sydney Grants-in-Aid
Grants-in-aid (GIA) are available to provide students with travel grants to support short-term periods of research overseas; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia; most grants are open only to full-time students enrolled in a research degree, although some are offered to undergraduates. Individual grants vary in value and purpose with most approximately $1,500.
Applications for 2009 are now closed. Applications for 2010 will open in early April 2010.

AFUW-NSW: The Tempe Mann Scholarship
Applications for 2009 are now closed. Applications for 2010 will open in early April 2010.
This scholarship is open to women who hold a research masters or doctoral degree from, or who are enrolled as a research masters or doctoral degree student at, The University of Sydney. The Scholarship is awarded to a woman to undertake a short period of advanced research or course work in any field, at an overseas university or equivalent organisation. The Scholarship value for 2009 will be $7,500.
