Study Abroad and Student Exchange

International students who wish to undertake short-term study in visual arts can apply to study at Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) through the Study Abroad Program or the Student Exchange Program.

Study Abroad

Study Abroad students can apply to the University of Sydney directly or through one of the University’s registered agents.

Study Abroad students are required to pay tuition fees.

Student Exchange

Exchange students can apply to study fee exempt at SCA if they are enrolled at a university that has an official student exchange agreement with the University of Sydney or SCA. Students should
contact their home university’s Exchange Program Office for details on how to apply to SCA as an exchange student.

Eligibility and Entry Requirements

To be considered for the Study Abroad or Exchange Program students must:

  • have completed at least one year of study towards a degree at a recognised institution in their home country and are continuing towards the degree of their home institution; AND
  • have achieved a ‘Credit’ or ‘Good’ average, or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale; AND
  • meet the English language requirements.

Study Abroad applicants are required to submit a portfolio to study at SCA, except in the case of Introductory electives that have no portfolio entry requirement.

Subjects in visual arts are offered in all SCA studio areas.
