Learning and Teaching

Sydney College of the Arts delivers innovative and current learning and teaching in contemporary art in our undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Studio practice stands at the centre of SCA’s educational philosophy. Students studying at SCA work in an independent and exploratory way, developing their own ideas through an ongoing process of experimentation, and creative research.

The studio-based approach to the education of contemporary artists and designers is supported by a range of integrated theory courses, timetabled group and individual tutorial sessions, technical classes and access to an exceptionally wide range of facilities.

SCA’s postgraduate coursework degrees offer professional development opportunities for graduates in the areas including documentary photography, film and digital art, interactive and digital media and studio art.
