The Scholarships & Prizes Office has a number of scholarships for current students meeting specific criteria or with unusual skills.

Council of Education Scholarship
For: Children of teachers or officers of 3+ years standing with the NSW Department of Education & Training or the NSW TAFE Commission.
How much: $500
How long: 3 years

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of proficiency in the HSC.
Only one scholarship is available for award in each scholarship round. Applications are assessed on the basis of ATAR.
Freemason's Scholarship
For: Children or grandchildren of Freemasons of 5 years standing at the United Grand Lodge of NSW.
How much: $1000
How long: 3 years
Application due: CLOSED.

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of ATAR or last year's AAM depending on which year the applicant is in. Preference is given to students in their first year of study.
Konstantin Gawrilow Scholarship
For: Available to women of no more than 25 years of age entering a first year course who are enrolled to study Russian language or literature (or both) at an Australian university (as these subjects are not currently offered at USyd); and either:
(a) are of Aboriginal background and (i) have no living parents, or (ii) have only one living parent, or (iii) are cared for, or were until attaining majority cared for, by one parent by reason of the desertion of the other parent; or (b) are not of Aboriginal background and (i) have no living parents, or (ii) have only one living parent.
How much: $7500
How long: 1 year, with possibility of renewal if the student maintains satisfactory academic progress

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of HSC or equivalent entry examination results.
Martin McIlrath Scholarship
For: Ex-servicemen & male descendants of ex-servicemen or women who are current or ex-members of the armed forces in the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Science.
How much: $1,000
How long: 1 year

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of ATAR.
Spero Gravas Scholarship
For: Students whose parents or grandparents are or were at any time in their lives persons of Greek nationality.
How much: $400
How long: 1 year

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of the previous years AAM. Only students in second year or above are eligible to apply.
The Organ Scholarship
For: Currently enrolled students
How much: $1,000
How long:1 -2 years

The successful Organ Scholar will be required to assist the University of Sydney organist.
Universities Credit Union Scholarship
For: Undergraduate students (2nd year and above) who are members, or who have a family member who is a member of the UniCom Credit Union of more than one year's standing.
How much: $1,200
How long: 1 year

This scholarship is awarded to the student who receives the highest AAM (Annual Average Mark) in the previous year’s examinations. Therefore, only students in second year or above are eligible to apply.
One award is available in each round.
Walter & Eliza Hall Scholarships in Nursing or Social Work
For: Currently enrolled students in combined Nursing or Master of Nursing or undergraduate Social Work. Must be full-time, Commonwealth Supported students, Australian citizens, have completed at least 48 credit points in Nursing or Social Work and have demonstrated financial need.
How much: $6,000
How long: 1 year

Established in 2008 with the offer of funding from the Walter and Eliza Hall Trust, the Walter and Eliza Hall Trust Opportunity Scholarship Program aims to ensure that the absence of money does not stand in the way of a selected person's ability to achieve their maximum potential, in terms of a formal tertiary education.
Walter Reid Book Grants
For: Currently enrolled students in undergraduate Arts or Law degrees (including Honours, or any undergraduate degree course combined with Arts or Law).
How much: $500
How many: We anticipate that there will be over 300 awards in 2010.
How long: 1 year
Application due: No application is required. Grants will be awarded on the basis of previous year’s academic results.
How to apply: No application is required
The Walter Reid Memorial Prize was originally established in 1948 from the estate of Mr Walter Edward Reid, barrister-at-law and Secretary to the Bar Association of NSW.
This scholarship is awarded on the basis of the previous years AAM. No application is required.
The Bachelor of Liberal Studies is regarded as a degree within the Faculty of Arts for the purpose of this award.
