Whether you have just finished high school, taken some time off or you are transferring from another University, scholarships can help to fund your studies at Sydney.

University of Sydney Scholarships for school leavers are offered across courses and faculties, some are awarded solely on academic merit, many others take into consideration leadership, community involvement, sporting achievements and participation in extra-curricular activities.

In addition to the new Commonwealth Scholarships, which aim to support students from low socio-economic backgrounds and rural or regional areas, The University of Sydney also offers scholarships to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Sydney University Sport and Fitness offer scholarships to encourage and support our elite athletes.

This section provides information and advice to prospective students of The University of Sydney in the following categories:

  • School students - Students currently studying at high school.
  • Gap year students - People currently or considering taking a gap year between high school and university.
  • Mature age entry - People who wish to enter university and are over the age of 21 years.
  • Graduate entry - People who have achieved an undergraduate degree and wish to complete another undergraduate degree.
  • Postgraduate entry - People who have an undergraduate degree, or sufficient industry experience, and are looking to pursue further or other qualifications.
