This scholarship was established by donations received to mark the occasion when James Wolfensohn, one of the University’s most distinguished alumni, was conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Science in Economics in September 1997. This scholarship aims to promote international understanding and advance the academic development of students by enabling them to spend part of their degree in an approved overseas institution where they will undertake studies.
One scholarship is awarded each year.
Applications are assessed on the basis of academic merit, purpose/appropriateness of the applicant's intended study at the overseas institution and contribution of the overseas experience to the applicant's personal and professional development.
