Timeline and Information about Application Processing for University
Here is some detailed information about how we process the scholarship applications so that you can know when to expect to hear if you have been successful or not:
End September Deadline for submitting scholarships applications
Please note, we do not accept applications or any other documentation after this date
End October Scholarships and Prizes Office write to each applicant to acknowledge receipt of their application.
If you don't receive an acknowledgement letter at this time it is very important that you contact the Scholarships and Prizes Office as we may not have received your application.
End November The Scholarships and Prizes Office write to all non short listed applicants to advise that they have not been successful.
All short listed applicants should be contacted by the Faculty they have applied in at this time to confirm that they have been short listed.
If you do not receive any notification at this time, please contact the Scholarships and Prizes Office.
Mid November - Mid December Interviews
Interviews for University of Sydney Scholarships are conducted in the Faculties of Agriculture and Science only.
End December First round offers sent to short listed applicants
Offers are also made for Outstanding Achievement Scholarships at this time.
Early - Mid January As soon as the IB (International Baccalaureate) results are available, offers will be sent to these students.
Offers will also be made to interstate students at this time.
Late January - Early February Faculties will make second and even third or fourth round offers during this period depending on how many students accept initial offers.
End February All short listed students should have been contacted by the end of February to advise if they have been successful or unsuccessful.
If you haven't received notification of your status by this date, please contact the Scholarships and Prizes Office.
Early March Semester begins
Scholarship recipients should receive their first payment in the first 3-4 weeks of semester (we try to make payments before HECS census date).
If you don't receive your payment by HECS census date, please contact the Scholarships and Prizes Office
May Scholarships Presentation Ceremony
If you don't receive a scholarship for when you commence University, please don't despair. You should keep your eye on this website as we advertise many different scholarship opportunities throughout the year, some of which you may be eligible to apply for.
