Gallery: Dr Michael Spence - Welcome afternoon tea, 25 July 2008

New Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Michael Spence was introduced to staff and students at an afternoon tea hosted by the Chancellor, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, which was held in the Great Hall and in a Marqee in the Quadrangle on 25 July 2008.

Over 1,300 staff and students of the University attended.

In his address, Dr Spence speak informally about his thoughts and ideas for the University in the future. He thanked staff and students for their part in making the University the fine institution that it had become over the last decade. Dr Spence also talked about the University's mission and values as an elite University and the importance of having a commitment to the University and a strong belief in what we do. Guests enjoyed quiche, cakes, and cucumber sandwiches as well as music by Sydney ConArtist, a Jazz Band from Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
