Chancellor
The Chancellor is elected by the Senate for a four year term of office to chair Senate meetings and to facilitate its work and collegiality, providing a focal point to ensure the high standing of the University in the wider community.
Current Chancellor (and Fellow of Senate)
- Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of New South Wales, was elected by Senate as Chancellor of The University of Sydney for a four year term from 1 June 2007. An official Fellow of Senate, the Chancellor is Chair of Senate.
