The Chancellor, the DVC (International) and the Vice-Chancellor led a delegation of two members of Senate and over 45 deans and academics to Shanghai and Hong Kong in October 2008. The program included graduations and alumni receptions along with "University of Sydney Days" with "Frontiers of Knowledge Symposia" at Fudan and Shanghai Jiao Tong Universities in Shanghai on 16 and 17 October; and at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 20 and 21 October. There were also visits to several other leading universities, senior government visits and a strong media program, as well as training workshops for agents. All members of the delegations were sponsored by their deans.
