Senate/Student Associations Liaison Committee
Terms of Reference
To discuss matters of policy relating to students.
In addition to the Senate/ Student Associations Liaison Committee, Senate resolved that a Management/Student Associations Committee be established. This Committee would be chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Community) and include such members of Management as were considered appropriate by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Community) in consultation with the SRC, SUPRA and USU. The Committee would also include the President and one other member of each of the three student organisations. The brief of the Management/Student Associations Committee would be to provide a formal basis for liaison between the student organisations and Management and be a forum for discussing issues of process and matters arising from the decisions and actions of Management which did not fall within the terms of reference of the Senate/Student Associations Liaison Committee.
The two committees would be reviewed in 18 months, or earlier if they were found not to be working well.
Constitution
Ex-officio members:
- The Chancellor
- The Deputy Chancellor
- The Vice-Chancellor and Principal (or nominee)
- The Undergraduate student Fellow of Senate
- The Postgraduate student Fellow of Senate
- The Presidents of the SRC, SUPRA and USU
- One other member of the Executive, Council or Management of each of the SRC, SUPRA and USU as determined by the President.
