Headings
Headings should follow a structured hierarchy, with clear visual distinction between heading levels. It is important that there are not too many levels of headings: if necessary, edit the headings to combine levels. An example of a heading hierachy appears below.
| [Heading 1] | Undergraduate core studies |
| [Heading 2] | Year 1 Semester 1 |
| [Body text] | First year students are required to... |
| [Heading 2] | Year 1 Semester Two |
| [Body text] | In the second semester, students will... |
Digital and Print Media advocates the use of the Initial capital style (sometimes called sentence case) for headings that is, Undergraduate core studies, not Undergraduate Core Studies. It is advisable not use upper case characters only for headings, unless as a design element, because it is thought that these are harder to read, especially for the visually impaired.
