Spaces
Since the word processor took over from the typewriter, it is no longer conventional use to insert a double space after the full stop at the end of a sentence. If text is fully justified, a double space may appear as an especially exaggerated gap in the text block.
When preparing text for layout, these extra spaces will need to be removed. This can be done automatically in a word processor using the global change feature, but may also remove any required double spacing.
