Special admission and concessional entry schemes

The University of Sydney offers a number of special admission schemes and entry programs for school leavers.

While applications have now closed for most of these programs, there are still some available to you.

The flexible entry scheme is for current HSC applicants whose UAI may fall up to five points below the normal cut-off for entry into certain courses. Under this scheme successful applicants must have demonstrated their aptitude for the course of their choice. Not all faculties participate in the scheme and the selection criteria vary between faculties. The applicable courses and entry requirements are indicated in the table below.

Where an additional application is required, forms are available from the relevant faculty.

All applications close on Thursday 4 January 2008.

For further information call the University Helpline 1300 362 006, or the Admissions Office on (02) 9351 4117/8.

Applicants for Faculty of Health Sciences courses, which are vocationally oriented, may be considered for admission on the basis of relevant TAFE courses completed and/or work experience. For further information call Student Administration at the Faculty on (02) 9351 9358 or (02) 9351 9574.

If you are an elite athlete or performer (as a guide, competed at state level or higher) and believe that your training and/or competitive commitments have affected your results in your HSC or other studies, you can apply for special consideration under the Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme.

Approval under this scheme does not guarantee an offer, but instead allows you to compete for a place if your UAI is up to five points below the Commonwealth-supported course cut-off.

Applications received before 2 November 2007 can be considered for offers in the Main Round. Applications received after this date but before close of applications on 1 February 2008 will only be considered in subsequent rounds.
