Late and final round offers
You have more than one shot at receiving an offer to the University of Sydney.
The majority of offers are made in the Main Round on January 17th. The University does, however, make offers in two more rounds: the Late Round and the Final Round.
Not everyone who receives an offer in the Main Round, or even the Late Round, will accept their offer. This results in vacancies which the University will fill in the later round offers.

How do I apply to be considered for a later round?
Your preferences will automatically be considered in the same order in the later rounds.
If you wish to change the order of your preferences, or be considered for other courses, you must change your preferences.
Remember all preferences are considered equally. Students are given an offer for the first preference for which they are eligible. If you don't get into your first preference you will automatically be considered for your second preference.
How do I change my preferences?
Do the UAI cut-offs change in the later rounds?
We can't predict what the UAI cut-off will be for any round. It changes all the time and is determined by the principle of supply and demand. We offer a set number of places and the UAI of the last person to be accepted becomes the UAI cut-off.
Do not assume that the UAI cut-off will go down in later rounds. In many cases, the UAI cut-off has actually increased in later rounds because there are fewer places being offered.
Should I accept and enrol in my first offer even if I am hoping for an offer in a later round?
There is no guarantee that you will receive an offer in a later round so you must accept your first offer or risk missing out altogether.
You accept your offer by enrolling. If you enrol in your first offer and then receive another offer you can easily disenrol from your first offer and accept your second offer.
