Acting on your child’s behalf
If your child receives an offer and they do not enrol in that offer, or defer it by the date specified, that offer will lapse.
Your first step is to visit the enrolment schedule to check if they are enrolling online or in person.
If they are enrolling online they can do it from anywhere in the world but they must do it by the offer expiry date or their offer will lapse.
If they are enrolling in person and they are not able to enrol themselves, then someone else can enrol on their behalf.
This is called a proxy enrolment.
Yes. To enrol on your child's behalf you will need their written permission, an idea about the subjects they wish to enrol in (remember they can change these at a later stage), their tax file number, and an idea about how they wish to pay their fees.
This is called a proxy enrolment.
If your child is applying on the basis of the current year's HSC (or equivalent), generally they can defer for one year. However, they should check the course they're interested in. If they are not applying straight from school, usually they cannot defer.
Your child can defer online.
In short, this is possible, but only for courses where there are vacancies.
Visit our page on later round offers for detailed information about how it works.
