Who can use the Online Service?
- you must be a currently enrolled student to use the online service
- you must be registered with the Accommodation Service (you can do this online from the "Start your accommodation search now!!" link, above)
- Students who have received a firm offer of a place from the University, but who have not yet enrolled, are able to use the Accommodation Database, but are unable to do so online. Please visit the Accommodation Service during office hours with your letter of offer from the University. For more information about this, please contact the Service.
About the Accommodation Database
The Accommodation Service maintains an extensive database of various types of accommodation located near the University's campuses or within easy access via public transport. Most of the accommodation listings on the database are close to the main campus, however accommodation near to other campuses is also included.
Please note, the Accommodation Service does not have the resources to inspect any of the properties listed on the Accommodation Database. You will need to make your own inquiries regarding the suitability of any listed accommodation. Please read our disclaimer, below. If you have concerns about a property or an accommodation provider, the Accommodation Officers would welcome your feedback.
The database lists:
- share accommodation
- full board/homestay
- rental property
- accommodation in exchange for work
- share accommodation on a temporary basis
For more detailed information, see types of off-campus accommodation.
Accessing the Accommodation Database
Enrolled students can access the accommodation database by either visiting the office during opening hours or via the online search facility, where they are able to search for appropriate accommodation. Searching will provide the student with detailed information about the accommodation, as well as the name and contact telephone number of the person offering the accommodation.
As the "search page" of the online search facility provides access only to a limited number of information fields, if you want to fine-tune your search, the Accommodation Officers are happy to assist you to do so by offering more complete access to the Database. Please visit the Service in person for further assistance.
