Casual or Temporary Accommodation

On-campus temporary accommodation

During university holidays, and occasionally during semester (if there are vacancies), most the on-campus colleges (except St Paul's) and the halls of residence offer casual accommodation to visiting academics and students.

Contact the individual colleges and halls of residence directly for further information and to make bookings. The Accommodation Service does not have the resources to book this accommodation for you.

International students seeking on-campus temporary accommodation in June and in December to January can find help with booking the accommodation by reading the ISSU Things To Do Before You Leave Home brochure containing a sample booking form you can use. Alternatively, you can contact each college and book with them directly.

Budget Accommodation

Budget accommodation includes some hotels and mostly backpacker hostels, guesthouses and lodges. This accommodation can be dormitory style or have single, double, triple or quadruple share rooms. This accommodation usually has basic facilities and is an affordable option if you need somewhere to stay on a temporary basis until you find a more permanent place to live.
