Vacation scholarships are available for suitably qualified candidates who are interested in undertaking an honours project in the field of medicinal chemistry in the Department of Pharmacology.
The projects will involve the synthesis of a number of flavones which are modulators at the GABA-A receptor in the central nervous system.
Applicants should have a background in synthetic organic chemistry and an interest in pharmacology.
The scholarships are valued at $1000 for a period of 6 weeks, commencing in January 2002 (or at other times by arrangement).
