"We need first class facilities for first class research"
Renovating our facilities to create the best possible environment for intellectual discovery is a major ongoing priority for the University. Projects like our refurbishment of the Medical Foundation building give our staff the state-of-the-art labs and equipment they need to continue making advances.
"The scale of research at the University is vast and continues to grow," says Professor Merlin Crossley, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research). "But this expansion brings with it a 'sophistication cost': the expense of building and renovating facilities so that cutting-edge research can take place. We need first class facilities for first class research."
