Established in 1850, many of the University's iconic buildings are listed under the State Heritage Register – from the Gatekeeper's Lodge (1898) to the Institute Building on City Road (1872) and, of course, the Quadrangle (1854). With their much-loved gargoyles and stained glass, they bring a sense of history to every student's experience.

But this famous heritage is now under threat due to funding challenges. While we devote over $2.7 million annually to restoring our landmark buildings, few other sources of funding are available for the vital task of protecting against the effects of age and weathering.
