To safeguard our heritage, the support of our friends is essential.
Established in 1850, many of the University's iconic buildings are listed under the State Heritage Register from the Gatekeeper's Lodge (1898) to the Institute Building on City Road (1872) and, of course, the Quadrangle (1854). With their much-loved gargoyles and stained glass, they bring a sense of history to every student's experience.
But this famous heritage is now under threat due to funding challenges. While we devote over $2.7 million annually to restoring our landmark buildings, few other sources of funding are available for the vital task of protecting against the effects of age and weathering. To safeguard our heritage, the support of our friends is essential.
