Peter Abolfathi, scholarship recipient and winner of the 2004 Eureka Prize for the Hand Rehabilitation GloveThe University is pleased to announce the establishment of a new alumni scholarships scheme which will assist students to attend the University. Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Annual Fund over the past three years, over $400,000 has been accumulated, enabling the University to award three scholarships of $5,000 in perpetuity.
"I no longer have to work part-time but can focus fully on developing and commercialising the glove with my team" says Peter Abolfathi .
These scholarships recognise the critical role that alumni play in support of the further education and nurturing of the leaders of the future our students.
Your support can help students such as Peter Abolfathi, a PhD candidate in biomedical engineering whose research has led to the development of a revolutionary glove embedded with artificial muscles that provides therapy and function to people suffering from hand injury or paralysis.
