The Institute for Sustainable Solutions aims to make a significant contribution to the challenges of sustainability, both within the University and especially beyond – to the industries,
government groups, scientific organisations and others in the community seeking strategies for a more sustainable world.

Our research leaders in the fields of Energy, Health, Development and the Environment are setting the pace for development of interdisciplinary research projects though our Interdisciplinary Research Seed Funding program. We are also developing a post-graduate sustainability program that spans all the faculties.

Universities that have strong and highly sophisticated research capacities can make a major contribution by bringing together disparate disciplines to tackle complex problems. With this capacity, the Institute for Sustainable Solutions can devise and encourage new, multi-dimensional solutions and fulfil our commitment to the creation of innovative and practical means of assuring a sustainable future for our planet and its people.
