Free lecture series

For the Sydney Ideas Key Thinkers free lectures series at the Law School on Wednesday evenings no bookings are required, simply turn up on the night. Seating is unreserved and doors open at 6.15pm.

Ticketed lecture series

Online: Sydney Ideas lectures can now be booked online. Simply follow the links for each lecture listed on this site or the links on the What’s On page at the Seymour site to book online.

For lectures held at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Verbrugghen Hall, a box office will be open one hour prior to the lectures in the Conservatorium Foyer.

All Sydney Ideas lectures are general admission, so tickets are not allocated to a particular seat. Doors open 15 minutes prior to each lecture, so please be early to pick up your tickets from the box office, particularly if you wish to secure an optimum seat.

Ticket prices

All Sydney Ideas events at the Seymour Centre are $20 full price and $15 concession. Booking fees may apply.

All Sydney Ideas events at the Verbrugghen Hall are $25 full price and $15 concession. Booking fees may apply.

We have special offers available for University of Sydney staff and students, Alumni of the University of Sydney and students from other institutions.

University of Sydney Students and Staff

Free tickets are available for all University of Sydney students and staff to all Sydney Ideas lectures at the Seymour Centre. You need to show identification at the box office in person to pick up a ticket at any time once they are on sale, including on the night. Please note that there will be a limited number of free tickets available for high-demand events.

For all events at the Verbrugghen Hall there are limited number of free tickets for University of Sydney students and staff, as it is a smaller venue. For popular events, call the box office in advance to check availability on the night. You need to show identification at the box office to pick up your ticket.

University of Sydney Alumni

University of Sydney Alumni are eligible for a limited Alumni offer of three tickets for the price of two. Show your Alumni card or quote the ID number on your card when booking. If you do not yet have a University of Sydney Alumni card or are unsure of your ID number, please contact the Alumni Relations Office for more information on 02 9036 9222. Normal booking fees may apply.

Student Rush

For all Seymour Centre events, there is a limited student rush of $10 a ticket available at the box office for one hour before the start of each lecture. This offer is for students other than those from the University of Sydney.

Gleeclub

Gleeclub members are eligible for concession price tickets to all events. Please quote your membership number on the phone or show your card at the Seymour Box Office when you book.
