Great Hall, Quadrangle

The Great Hall in the quadrangle of the Camperdown Campus is the venue for the Intelligence Squared Debate on 10 November. Click here for information on public transport and how to get to the venue.

For door sales and to pick up pre-booked tickets, the Seymour Centre box office will be open in the Quadrangle one hour prior to the start of the debate.

Sydney Conservatorium of Music

In 2009, the University of Sydney is very pleased to extend the Sydney Ideas program to its premier city location, the Verbrugghen Hall, which is the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s largest venue and a world-class concert hall seating 497 over two levels.

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music is located in Macquarie St, opposite the junction with Bridge Street. It is next to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the gates to Government House. It is easily accessible by public transport. There is no public parking on the site, however there is a short-stay drop-off point for disabled patrons and deliveries. Catering

The Conservatorium opens a licensed bar one hour prior to the start of Sydney Ideas lectures on Level 1 (down the steps from the main foyer).

Seymour Theatre Centre

The University of Sydney’s Performing Arts venue, the Seymour Theatre Centre is the venue for most Sydney Ideas lectures. It is located on the corner of City Rd and Cleveland St, Chippendale. Click here for detailed directions and access information on the Seymour Centre.

Catering

The Seymour Centre provides a fully licensed bar and coffee cart for Sydney Ideas patrons and is open one hour prior to the lecture start times of 6.30pm. Click here for further information on its food outlets and menus.

Law School Lecture Theatre 101

The new Sydney Law School Building at the Camperdown campus is the venue for the free Key Thinkers lecture series on Wednesday evenings. Click here for more information on how to get to the building.

Eastern Avenue Auditorium

Eastern Avenue Auditorium located on Eastern Avenue on the Camperdown campus will be an occasional venue for Sydney Ideas lectures in 2009.

For door sales and picking up pre-booked tickets, the Seymour Centre box office will be open in the auditorium foyer one hour prior to the start of the lecture.

From the Seymour Centre it is a 5 minute walk. Either walk up City Rd and cross at the lights at Butlin Avenue and enter through the main gates, or walk behind the Seymour Centre, up Maze Crescent and cross City Rd using the footbridge.

All Buses travelling along City Rd ( 422, 423, 426, 428, 370, 352) stop outside the main gates opposite Butlin Avenue.
