2009 Goals and Objectives
There are four Sydney Student goals for 2009, each goal is supported by key objectives.
GOAL 1: Appoint a suitable long-term system implementation partner and recruit University program team.
- Reach an optimum conclusion to procurement process through due diligence, negotiation and proof of concept activity
- Appoint successful vendor and award contract
- Second suitable staff from across the University to join the program team to provide internal knowledge and capability
- Induction of University and vendor staff into the program.
GOAL 2: Design and implement short term people and process improvements.
- Engage with the Student Administration community of practice to provide reform input and invest in knowledge sharing, communications and professional development
- Progress initiatives to support a more integrated, high standard and customer service oriented approach to service delivery for student administration
- Deliver improvements to 2009/2010 in-person enrolments
- Document the wide range of ‘off-FlexSIS’ data management solutions across the University, and work with owners to improve the consistency and efficiency
- Improve the availability, consistency and user-friendliness of student administration forms.
GOAL 3: Work with relevant faculty and PSU staff to design the detailed ‘Whole of University’ service delivery model for student administration to inform system development.
- Create the strategy, design and policy framework for the new student administration function
- Define and design a more integrated approach to delivering the 'Sydney Student Experience'
- Design the organisational and development framework for the new student administration function
- Detailed blueprinting of the proposed business processes for student administration, creating a sustainable procedure framework
- Identify and design enabling infrastructure and facility requirements, proactively managing interdependencies with other University projects and groups.
GOAL 4: Plan and initiate systems design for student administration system implementation.
- Develop a systems implementation Project Charter in collaboration with the vendor
- Project planning for the system design and implementation activities across the program lifecycle
- Initiate a detailed design for the new student lifecycle management solution in collaboration with process design.
