International Envelope Sizes
Envelopes Due to increased automation in mail processing, Australia Post applies limits on the size and shape of articles that qualify for the standard postal rate. In essence, standard articles must be oblong in shape, with the length at least 1.414 times the width. It should be no smaller than 88mmx138mm and no longer than 122x237mm. Thickness must not exceed 5mm and weigh should be less than 500 grams. Australia Post provides a free letter gauge that indicates if articles fall into the standard category. Envelopes that fall into the standard category are: 90mm
x 145mm (11B) International envelope sizes shown are all in accordance with international postal agreements. The DL and C6 sizes are also suitable for mechanical inserting.
