A2A - How to submit an Application to Activate

The A2A form is now available through our new software interface SEAMS (Sydney eLearning Account Management System). If you have not used SEAMS before you will need to ring or email the Helpdesk to set up an first-use password please phone our Helpdesk ext 18728.

Once your UoS site is ready for students you will need to submit your online A2A - Application to Activate online form. This form generates an automated email that logs a job with the Elearning team advising that the Elearning site is ready to be released to the students. This application should be sent by either the main designer (the person who will be responsible for the maintenance of the site) or by the primary academic or coordinator.

When you login your SEAMS interface you will see a table containing your UoS elearning sites. Under the Heading 'Action' you will see the following 3 options:

  • Site Details - Edit site details, and nominate the primary academic and designer for the site.
  • A2A - Submit the online A2A (Application to Activate) form to release the site to students.
  • Enrolment Settings - Add and edit which UoS codes have access to your elearning site. Add ADDITIONAL UoS codes that need access to this elearning site. Add Tutors and other Designers to the site.

What type of Mode is my elearning site?

Your A2A form will ask what type of Mode your elearning site is. We need to know whether the UoS is being offered fully online, with some compulsory online elements, or simply as an adjunct to face-to-face classes to help complete the A2A technical check. If your site is fully online, you will need a signature from your HoD (Head of Department). This signature is usually faxed or emailed to the helpdesk. Please phone us on x18728 to request a form.

If you need any other staff to have access to the site you can add them using the non-cohort enrollment settings in SEAMS. You will need to have the staff member's unikey to add them to the site.

If they are not in our elearning database, we will need to add them to the database. Please email their unikey, full name, email and phone number and we will add them to the database. Include the name of the site and their level of access if you would like Helpdesk to add them to your elearning site.

and their status in the live site (Designer or Teaching Assistant).
