Citrix installation guide

You will need to download a copy of the Internet browser Mozilla and a copy of the latest Citrix client:

If you have any issues installing the CITRIX client please use the CITRIX Help.

Once the above mentioned applications have been installed, please proceed with the following steps:

  1. You will need to re-sync your UniKey/Extro account. The accounts for users need to be contained in two databases, most accounts we request for Cirix access exist only on the first database but not on the second. As a result when we create the second, the passwords need to be the same and can only be manually synced by the user. A full automatic sync occurs nightly. To sync accounts, please navigate to your UniKey/Extro login page and fill out the necessary fields to create a new password.
  2. Navigate to the University’s CMS Citrix server
  3. Click on the link 'MCS - Content Management System'
  4. You will then have a pop up box appear. Please choose 'Open it with' and click on the 'Choose...' button to select the application that you will use when presented with this type of file.
  5. Navigate to where you installed the Citrix client (/applications/citrix ica client/) and choose 'Citrix ICA Client', tick the 'Always perform this action when handling files of this type' box before proceeding
  6. Accept the 'Citrix Client Software License Agreement' which may appear
  7. You will now see a log on screen. Please enter your UniKey name and password.
NOTE: Do not change the 'Log on to:' field. It should have 'MCS' as the option. Click 'OK'.
  8. At the next pop up, please click 'Allow', this will enable local drive access to your computer.
  9. On your desktop you should now have a file called boilerplate.asp. Rename this file to CMS and save it somewhere you can easily access it. Henceforth you can simply double click on this file to start your CMS session.

You are now ready to use the CMS!

It is important that when you have finished using the CMS that you exit the Citrix session. The University has purchased a number of concurrent licenses, therefore, if you do not exit Citrix you may be denying someone access to the system.

If you have any issues please contact or call them on 67020.
