World Events

The University of Sydney World Events is a set of broad-based initiatives aimed at achieving a major advance in the university's internationalisation and international engagements as a top ranked world university. It is aligned with the key priorities and achievement areas set out in the international strategy of the University, which are :

  1. engagement and leadership at an international level
  2. fostering an international culture of innovation and research
  3. enhancing international learning and teaching
  4. creating international networks and communities
  5. successful partnership with international business and industry
  6. active development of international resources
  7. focus on clear international communication programs.

These initiatives formed a part of the continuing program of the University.

Several significant international events have been held in the following cities:

2005 - Beijing
2006 - Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong
2007 - Berlin, London, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Beijing and Guangzhou

In 2008 events will be held in Los Angeles, New York, Indonesia, Latin America, Japan, South Korea, London Singapore, Philadelphia, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
